When: February 1, 2008 - May 1, 2008
NOTE: Put a link to your review in the second post.
Your challenge if you choose to accept it is to read at least two books by authors that share your name. They can share your first name, middle name or last name. They can share your nickname or online name or email name. They can share a form of your name. If you have a very rare name, just do your best to get as close as you can. UPDATE: The character can have the same name as you too.
For example, my real first name is Kathleen. I will be reading Kathleen McConnell and Kit Pearson (whose real name is Kathleen.) I could also read books by a Kathy, Katherine or Katie as these all come from the same name. Even Cathy, Catherine and Catie. I could read a book by a Callista (online name) or someone who shares my middle or last name.
That's three months to read two books. To make it easier on myself and you this time, all you have to do to sign up is post about it on your blog and add yourself to Mr. Linky. You can sign up even if you don't have a list yet, just post your intentions to join the challenge and a link to this blog and you can add your list later.
UPDATE: Mr. Linky doesn't work for some reason. If you want to join, just add a link to your list (or your list if you don't have a blog) in the comments.
After the challenge has started, come back here to post your review. I'm not taking sign ups to join the blog this time.
If you have any questions, please ask in the comments. Thanks.

MM I'm not sure I'll be able to find any authors named Robyn/Robin or Frances. Robin McGraw (Dr Phil's wife) is the only one that comes to mind.
Does it have to be only for the authors or can the main characters have the same name as well??
Actually that's a good question. I suppose if the character's name is your you are still reading your name right? Sounds good to me.
A quick search on Robin came up with Robin Burcell, Robin Brande, Robin Hobb, Robin Hardy, Robin Gunn, Robin McKinley, Robin Ryan and Robin Hill. You'll have to look them up to see what kind of books they write.
Frances came up with Frances Hodgson Burnett, Frances Ridley Havergal, Frances Moore Lappe, Frances Sherwood and Frances Mayes
I had never thought of seeking out authors that share my name before. What an interesting twist for a challenge! I can't wait to start. Diane
There's also Robin Paige, pen name for a husband and wife team. They write a mystery series set in Victorian/Edwardian England. :-)
I wanted to stick with books already in my pile. It was pure luck that I turned over a book I just got and saw that the heroine's name was Christine!
Christina
I might have a bit of trouble finding authors named Erin, but my middle name is Kathleen, a much more common name. Either way, I am sure I'll come up with a suitable list for this.
Hey! Thanks for hosting this fun challenge. I'm in! Here's my list.
Just wanted to say quickly that I have had to change one of my books. I had trouble getting the Kathleen Givens story so I found a copy of The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs to replace it. I'll be changing my list on my sidebar to reflect that.
This sounds like a lot of fun. I can't think offhand of any authors who have my name but Lisa is pretty common, actually I just though of a couple.. Lisa Gardner and is it Scottoline? Although I am not really much on their type of books, I feel confident I can find two books to read.. and I love the challenge.
I am going to go search through my Librarything bookshelf, since I want to try and read only from my current TBR this year.
Thanks for setting this up Callista.. Are you the same Callista who is or was in my ThematicClassicChallenge group on Yahoo, by chance?
Oh, I forgot to mention the person who was looking for a Robyn, someone mentioned Robyn McKinley.. She wrote a great book called Sunshine it was a vampire book with a beauty and the beast theme, really good. She is pretty into the whole Beauty and the Beast theme, she rewrote her own version of the classic, I have it on my TBR but haven't read it yet, but from the book I did read, I feel safe in saying she is a really good author.
Also, Robin Cook for medical thrillers. Robin Maxwell, historical fiction. Robin Gold & Robyn Sisman - both write Chick lit. Hope that helps.
Lisa

Hi. I'm thinking of joining this challenge, but I don't see a "Mr. Linky" to add my link information. What should I do?
Thanks!
This sounds like a lot of fun. I'd love to join. I'll get back to you with a list soon. Thanks for hosting!
